About the PrograM
Centra Academy is CENTRA NL's entrepreneurship and professional development arm, dedicated to equipping Black business owners, entrepreneurs, and creatives with the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to succeed. Through workshops, mentorship sessions, and business resources, Centra Academy creates pathways for economic empowerment and sustainable growth within the Black community in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Black Theatre Training Program
The Black Theatre Training Program nurtures the next generation of Black theatre artists in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through intensive training, workshops, and mentorship from experienced practitioners, participants develop skills in acting, directing, writing, and production. The program creates a safe, affirming space where Black artists can grow their craft, find their voice, and build a career in the performing arts.
Directing Workshop
A focused, hands-on program for emerging directors to develop their craft and creative vision. Participants learn script analysis, actor communication, staging, blocking, and production management, led by experienced industry professionals.
